New year, new plan.
First of all, we'd like to say thank you to everyone who attended the recent meeting to consider the future of Vigilia Mortis. A number of topics were discussed, but the most frequently voiced opinion was that VM should aim to return to the days of a Warhammer gaming community with a broader appeal, rather than focusing on a specific title. I'm happy to say that this is the direction that we were already strongly leaning towards, but given your input, is now our concrete intent.
As such, mandatory attendance is a phrase consigned to the rolls of history, and participation in all future events will be wholly at your discretion. Without dedicating the Chapter to a specific game, we'll be placing much greater emphasis on the Event request section. There's already been requests for scheduled events for several different titles, and they'll be appearing on the Events calendar shortly. We strongly encourage members to check the calendar regularly and sign up to participate for activities that appeal. However, while emergencies and unforeseen circumstances do happen, we would ask that you try not to sign up for events that you aren't certain you will be able to attend. Some games like Vermintide or Deathwing have a maximum of four players per group and others may be discouraged from signing up if they can already see four names listed.
If there's a title you want to play that doesn't appear, or is listed but at a time that clashes with your schedule, by all means make your own request and we'll add it to the calendar.
Over the coming weeks you'll be seeing a few changes here and there as the admins get to grips with the new regime, if you have any concerns or suggestions please don't hesitate to contact one of us.
Thanks for sticking with VM, lets make 2018 a great year!
Pro Imperio, pro Imperatore et Vigilia Mortis, puram ad in novus anni!
