Slitherine and Games Workshop&reg; are pleased to announce Warhammer&reg;40,000&reg;: Armageddon™.<br>

Having announced an exciting partnership with Games Workshop a few weeks
 ago, Slitherine are delighted to release further details. Slitherine 
have acquired the exclusive rights to Games Workshop’s "Battle for 
Armageddon” setting in order to create a series of amazing multiplatform, turn-based, hex-based games. Warhammer 40,000: Armageddon
 will make full use of Slitherine's expertise in creating compelling and
 challenging strategy gaming experiences. The initial game is set during
 the Second War of Armageddon and players will lead the Imperial forces 
of the Armageddon Steel Legion and Space Marines&reg;from the Ultramarines, 
Blood Angels and Salamanders Chapters against Ghazghkull Thraka’s 
massive Ork Waaagh! invasion through over 30 scenarios, on the hostile 
terrain of the planet and its gigantic Hive Cities.<br>

"It is very exciting to see a game like this come alive - I just can't 
wait to play it!", said Iain McNeil, Development Director of the 
Slitherine Group. "It's been almost 15 years since a turn-based strategy
 game set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe has been released and we 
think it is now time to deliver that experience to all fans around the 
world".<br>

"The Battle for Armageddon is a classic event in the lore of the 
Warhammer 40,000 universe, having been detailed in games, models and 
novels over the past 20 years.” said Jon Gillard, Head of Licensing at 
Games Workshop. "Slitherine's masterful use of their classic digital 
wargame style applied to this seminal setting will delight fans of 
both.”<br>

The game is currently in development for PC and iOS and will release in the first quarter of 2014.<br>

The game portrays the Second War for Armageddon™ in great detail, from 
the initial Ork landings to the final liberation of the planet;<br><br>
It contains a large branching campaign with 30 major scenarios, plus 
additional 5 tutorial scenarios that explore the story in detail;<br><br>
A complex plot, which can develop during a mission, right in the middle 
of battle, creating an engaging story line with unexpected twists;<br><br>
Players lead Imperial troops of the Armageddon™ Steel Legion, with 
supporting assets from a number of Space Marine chapters against the 
ferocious Orks;<br><br>
Fight alongside Commissar Yarrik and Commander Dante against the cunning Ork Warboss Ghazghkull Thraka;<br><br>
Carry over battle-hardened veterans from scenario to scenario, using their experience and upgrading their equipment;<br><br>
Detailed combat model with terrain, weather and morale effects;<br>
Extensive modding options delivered through a powerful and easy-to-use game editor.<br>

how the classification system for space suits works. Please note that 
this is what we’re working towards; you won’t find all of these in the 
game on day one (and some are for Squadron 42!)&nbsp;<span style="font-size: 13px;">This also does not mean there are nine different space suits; there are nine <span style="font-style: italic;">types</span>.
 Like ship upgrades, each suit will have a variety of different 
manufacturers, quality levels, upgrade options, etc. Suits will also 
have customizable colors, decals, etc. to increase variation. There will
 also be an array of player clothing separate from space suits.</span></p>
<ul><li><span style="font-weight: bold;">Class I</span> – basic protection; essentially a plastic 
bag. Think a Tyvek suit. Class 1 suits protect against vacuum during a 
hull breach but they can’t be worn for EVAs.</li><li><span style="font-weight: bold;">Class II</span> – This is the "standard” suit for 
non-military pilots. Keeps you safe in the cockpit and is maneuverable 
enough in combat. Has limited EVA capabilities, although to do anything 
effective in zero G you need attachments that will slow it down.</li><li><span style="font-weight: bold;">Class III</span> – Heavier civilian suit. A little slower 
and less maneuverable than the class II, but has increased armor. You’ll
 have a harder time moving around in boarding, but you can take more 
hits.</li><li><span style="font-weight: bold;">Class IV</span> – Military suit, as seen in the Squadron 
42 trailer. This suit is armored to protect against cockpit damage, has 
various self-repair features, advanced tactical display, etc. Roughly as
 effective in EVA as the Class II is in a boarding operation.</li><li><span style="font-weight: bold;">Class V</span> – Advanced Military Suit. This is a much 
more expensive and rarer class of suit. Think the difference between a 
standard fighter pilot suit and the ones worn by an SR-71 crew.</li><li><span style="font-weight: bold;">Class VI</span> – Marine armor. Too bulky to wear in a 
cockpit, but much&nbsp; more effective in boarding operations. A pilot 
wearing a Class III suit might fly a cargo load of his friends in Class 
VI suits to attack a freighter.</li><li><span style="font-weight: bold;">Class VII</span> – Heavy Marine Armor. This is a heavy weapons suit with mech upgrade for carrying heavy weapons.</li><li><span style="font-weight: bold;">Class VIII</span> –Full blown EVA suit, similar to a modern space suit with an MMU.</li><li><span style="font-weight: bold;">Class IX</span> – Full blown mech suit. Somewhere between a
 space suit and the power loader from Alien. These repair the outsides

      <title>Relic says a new Dawn of War is a “strong possibility”</title>

<blockquote><p><br></p><p>It’s been over two years since we hot-dropped onto the battlefields 
of the 41st Millennium in Dawn of War II: Retribution, and the sale of 
Relic to Sega has left the series’ future a mystery. While Relic’s 
in-house property, Company of Heroes, changed hands along with them, 
there has been no official word on whether or not Warhammer owners Games
 Workshop will continue to license the franchise to the RTS developer. 
Speaking to <a href="http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-04-22-strong-possibility-relic-will-work-with-games-workshop-on-dawn-of-war-3">Eurogamer</a>
 recently, Relic’s Quinn Duffy gave us hope for a third entry in the 
franchise, saying there is "a strong possibility we’ll all be working 
together again on Dawn of War.”</p>
<p>Speculation about a Dawn of War continuation was rekindled after Sega
 was announced to have purchased Relic. The veteran publisher also owns 
Creative Assembly, of Total War fame, which is currently working on a 
game set in the Warhammer Fantasy universe. It seems the existing 
relationships are all there to make it happen. What might a hypothetical
 Dawn of War 3 look like, though?</p>
<p>Well, according to former THQ president Danny Bilson, some version of
 Dawn of War 3 was in the pipe before the house of cards came down. He 
described it as having "a much larger strategic component” and being 
"sort of MMO-like.” It’s quite possible this direction was scrapped, 
however, after the failure of the "MMO-like” Company of Heroes Online.</p>
<p>We’ll keep an eye out for any more Dawn of War 3 news—let us know in

      <title>Space Hulk first look</title>

 Space Hulk game. EA managed two in the early 1990s. Now, having 
reclaimed the precious licence geneseed from THQ’s still-smouldering 
corpse, Games Workshop is determined to rebuild its chapter, producing 
myriad new clones of its tabletop games – we’re counting nine right now,
 but we’re sure there’s more to come. And the lucky team to have Space 
Hulk warp onto their doorstep is Denmark’s Full Control. I saw the demo 
in action at GDC and caught up with Full Control’s CEO, Thomas Hentschel
 Lunt for a chat.</p>
<p>For the uninitiated, the game has the player controlling a squad of 
Terminator Space Marines as they explore an abandoned spaceship. 
Terminators, the elite of the elite Space Marines, are 
genetically-enhanced warriors clad in the ludicrously-named Tactical 
Dreadnought Armour and equipped with lethal weaponry larger than most 
men. </p>
<p>Their opponents on the ship are genestealers, tough six-limbed Alien 
pastiches that are supremely powerful in close combat.  The game is 
turn-based: the Terminators trundle through the claustrophobic corridors
 towards their objective while the genestealers harry their progress. 
Each level is a puzzle in which the player has to work out the best 
squad configuration to get his troops through the tight corridors in one
 piece – or, more often, simply to sacrifice themselves to achieve their
 objective.</p>

<p>Full Control has recreated the board game in almost perfect detail, 
from the design on the hulk’s floors to the individually-named First 
Chapter Blood Angel Terminators of the Sin of Damnation campaign. Lunt 
is rightly proud of how accurate the game is. The only change I saw was 
to the Heavy Flamer – the third edition rules allowed you to fill an 
entire section of the boardgame’s modular levels with flame, engulfing 
an area as large as the room you were firing it into. Here it’s a 
standardised blast of fire covering a set number of squares. The one art
 innovation is in the hulk’s interior walls, which Lunt’s team based on 
the gothic cathedral feel of Imperial exteriors. </p>
<p>The campaign in the game is based on the classic third edition of the
 board game, where the Blood Angel first chapter is cleansing the hulk 
known as the Sin of Damnation. However, there will be both multiplayer 
and co-op, allowing players to take either genestealer or Terminator 
sides – Lunt hopes for up to four people playing at once. He also showed
 me the game’s extremely simple but flexible Unity-based level editor 
which will ship with the game. Building a level will take minutes and 
Lunt hopes that community moderation will help the best maps and 
campaigns float to the surface.</p>
<p>It’s worth noting that the game has been in development for just six 
months, but looks almost finished, save for a few details. The kill-cam –
 lifted unashamedly from XCOM – runs through walls too often. The 
multiplayer modes are yet to appear. Most obviously of all, the 
Terminator’s walking animation is missing. Even so, Lunt is already 
thinking about DLC. Each piece will be a new campaign with a new chapter
 of properly-modelled Space Marines, with the release almost certainly 
decided by community voting. We’re betting that the order will end up 
Dark Angels, Space Wolves then something else – though I’d personally 
kill to play as one of the pre-Horus Heresy legions, such as the Alpha 
Legion or Luna Wolves. </p>
<p>If it all works out for Full Control, Lunt already has an idea of 
what he wants to pitch next. "We want to make more games in the 40K 
universe – that’s definitely what I want to do. Not pre-made games, new 
stuff… I’d love to do something like Battlefleet Gothic or Necromunda, 
but they’d have to work. Necromunda, for example, has a huge following, 
but when you think about it in a 3D way, how are you going to make it

‘Fantasy Flight RPGs’, I will be going over the website and deleting dead pages
and replacing broken images.

to mark this event we will be having an awesome game night dedicated to
everything Warhammer related, get your gaming socks on and jump into the battle.
Bring all your friends, animals and heretics to join in on the fun and share
this special day with us. I would like to thank everyone who is still a part of
the Chapter and those who have moved on, these past couple of months have been
ruff with the news about DMO etc but thanks to you we have come through the
stormy seas and set up our own games dedicated to the Emperor. I'm sure everyone
will agree that we have a great community of Warhammer fans here and we've all
made some great friends along the way. Let’s carry it on make the next year of
