Today marks the dawn of a new era for the Chapter, myself and others have been hard at work over the past few weeks in preparing for this change of direction. This Chapter was founded by people coming together to form a community of individuals who all shared one true passion; Warhammer. Through the years we've had our ups and downs, our emotions have been slammed and shaken to the very core. Over the past few years, I decided to dedicate our efforts to one game, Eternal Crusade. I thought that this game would provide us with endless hours of fun, and even though it did have its good times the course of a Chapter solely dedicated to EC to the detriment of other titles, has come to an end.
We want to return to those foundations that I feel brought out the best in this community through the years. A lot of stuff has changed recently and over the next few months, more changes will become apparent as we move towards this new direction. Some of the biggest changes are listed below, but most if not all site information has been changed in some regard and I urge you to re-familiarize yourself. Many people have dedicated considerable time and effort, so taking 10-20 minutes of your day to get up to date will not only improve your understanding of our new bearing but will also grant them a measure of satisfaction for all their hard work.
The main areas that have seen changes thus far are:
New Rank Structure
We have reworked the existing rank structure. The roles of Castellan and Lord Castellan have been created to replace the existing ranks of Sergeant (and Vet. Sergeant). The members who hold these positions are dedicated to helping with and creating events within the realm of their particular speciality. For instance, we have Castellans who are dedicated to various games and others who will be more concerned with the non-digital aspect of the hobby; RP, Table Top etc.
New / Redefined Awards
Our old award system was constructed solely with member performance and dedication within Eternal Crusade in mind. Since we're no longer so focused on this game, in particular, we wanted a new community feel and as a result, the awards have been changed to reflect this. The current crop of awards represent only our initial efforts and over the next few months, new awards will continue to be added. To go along with this re-work, a new section has been created for you to apply for certain awards. If you feel that you may have been overlooked or particularly deserve a specific award, then head over to the AWARD REQUEST forum area and follow the instructions.
New Event Request Process
Since we now have far more members spreading their time and attention across a spectrum of titles, we want you, the members of our community to step up and help to organize events. This can be anything, any type of game or activity that will involve members of the community. Again we have a brand new EVENT REQUEST sub-forum for this. Head over and provide details of the event you'd like to set up, once approved the event will be added to the Chapter calendar for members to sign up! Please
In addition to this, the site itself will be undergoing some work; I plan to add the facility to construct a personal profile page where members can have their RP Biography and lots of other cool details, stuff like what games they play, the times they're most active etc.
This month is setting the pace, as we are a relaxed community the only thing we ask of you is to get involved; starting in the month of October activity checks will be returning and members who fail to maintain activity to a minimal standard will be removed. We're all friends here, we need you to help us on this new path.
